What do I need to know on the day of installation?
The Base team handles everything on installation day. Just be reachable by text in case we need to reach you. We recommend that you be home on the day of installation, however it is only required if your main breaker box is in your garage or inside, or you want to request a specific battery placement.
Managing Delays and Scheduling
Installations typically occur within a few weeks after signing up, although factors such as inventory availability and administrative requirements, like utility registration, can sometimes cause delays. Base Power ensures any updates or changes to the schedule are communicated promptly through direct notifications.
For our 39.2 kWh batteries, installation happens in two visits.
Visit 1 is electrical work, where we'll install a device on your exterior wall, connect it to your main breaker box, and install a pad on the ground where the battery will go.
Visit 2 is battery installation, where we'll install the battery on the pad. We're ready to schedule the first visit now, and the second visit will occur within three weeks after the first visit.
During Visit 1, someone must be home to provide our installation crew access to the main breaker box. Your power will be off for 1-3 hours during the middle of Visit 1. To avoid lawn damage, hold off on sprinklers for 48 hours beforehand.
For Visit 2, no one needs to be home for the second visit, and your power will stay on.
After the installation, please download the Base Power Mobile application using Google Play Store of the Apple App Store and input your Wi-Fi network name and password.
Additionally, you can log on to account.basepowercompany.com to track updates about your installation status.
You can expect to see your battery system fully connected in the Base Power app within 24-48 hours of installation. If you see that your system is in maintenance mode, that means that our service team will visit your home in the next 10 business days to ensure your system is working as expected.
Please note: Any electrical work to your main panel, outlets, or electric vehicle chargers must be completed before your Base battery installation.
The electricians who install your Base battery system will not be able to perform additional electrical upgrades or modifications—such as outlet removals, panel changes, or charger installations—on the day of your battery installation. If you need or want any electrical work done, please ensure it’s completed by a licensed electrician before your installation date to avoid delays or rescheduling.
