Base Power Company is the only retail energy provider (REP) that provides a backup battery to members for outage protection.
Base is also one of the only power companies that makes money off the grid, not homeowners. Because of this, Base is able to legally commit that rates stay below the market average—a guarantee included in your contract when you join Base.
While you still pay for your power usage, you enjoy a lower fixed rate of $8.5c/kWh (plus other distribution fees) compared to other power companies.
Additionally, Base Power offers a standard energy rate of 8.5¢ per kWh for electricity. However, it is important to consider the total cost for electricity, which includes utility delivery fees.
These charges vary based on your local utility provider and are passed through to customers without any markup from Base Power. For instance, providers like Oncor and Centerpoint have specific delivery charges regulated by local authorities.
Base prioritizes transparency in member pricing, and consistently evaluates rates to stay competitive and price members fairly.
Whether you have questions about your bill, choosing the right plan, or want guidance on your device, the Base team is committed to handling concerns in a timely and personalized manner.
If you need to confirm or verify your rate, Base Power encourages you to request specific documentation such as the Electricity Facts Label (EFL) for your plan. This document provides a detailed breakdown of your energy rate and additional charges, ensuring full transparency.
Note - in order to be on the Base Power electricity plan, you must have a battery system or plan to receive one in the future.
