I'm a renter moving into a home with Base Power. What do I need to do?

Updated over a week ago

1. Activating electricity service with Base is required for battery access

  • You must use Base Power as your electricity provider to keep the Base battery at your home. Please contact your landlord to get started.

  • Base Power may not appear on general electricity provider lists shared by your property manager. If it does not, please contact your property manager or landlord.

  • If you use a different electricity provider, your landlord will be subject to a fee and your battery will be removed.

  • You will receive a personalized link to activate electricity service with Base based on your lease.

Disclaimer: In Texas, all residents (homeowners, renters) have the power to choose who their energy provider is. Your landlord recently registered for a Base Power battery at your home. Base Power energy + battery service provides back-up power in the event of an outage. If you choose a different provider, your battery will be removed.

2. Why Stay on Base?

⚡ Outage Protection – Stay powered during 97% of blackouts.

💰 Guaranteed Low Rates – Fixed at 9¢ per kWh for 36 months (before utility delivery charges).

🔋 Zero Maintenance – Receive a free home battery with no upkeep costs; Base covers all necessary service.

Legal Notes & Consumer Rights

Texas residents have the right to choose their Retail Electric Provider (REP). However, Base Power’s battery is only available to members enrolled in our REP plan.

Switching away from Base Power disables your access to the system.
