What safety precautions does Base take?

Safety & Reliability You Can Trust

Updated over 3 months ago

At Base, safety is at the core of everything we do. Our battery system is UL certified - the gold standard for electrical system safety in home appliances, meeting rigorous fire safety standards.

Base uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery technology, which is one of the safest options available. Unlike other battery types, LFP is more stable under high temperatures and is far less likely to overheat or catch fire. In fact, the risk of fire is much lower than with standard electric vehicle batteries.

Base batteries emit less electromagnetic fields (EMFs) than cell phones and WiFi routers, which are already considered safe.

All Base battery installations are performed by certified, bonded, insured, and licensed electricians under the supervision of our master electrician (license #476697). In the unlikely event of an issue, Base is fully prepared to work with you to resolve it responsibly. We handle all warranty and maintenance directly, and our comprehensive general liability insurance ensures you're covered for any unforeseen incidents.

With Base, you get safe, reliable, and expertly managed home energy storage—without the worry.
