How should I interpret the Base App “status” bar with “power source”, “battery charge”, and “estimated backup time”?

  • Power Source – Displays the primary source powering your home over the last few minutes. Even when grid power is available, your battery may act as the primary source to help balance the grid or power your home.

  • Battery Charge – Shows your current battery charge level. If you have multiple batteries, this reflects the combined charge. The level may fluctuate as the battery supports grid balancing or powers your home.

  • Estimated Backup Time – Displays how long your battery is expected to power your home during an outage, calculated from your current battery charge and your last 15 minutes of energy usage. This time is shown in tenths of an hour to avoid rounding down to 0 hours too quickly. Reducing energy consumption can help extend this estimated duration.
