How am I billed for energy supply?

Edited

Your energy bill comes from ComEd — not directly from Base. ComEd consolidates all charges into a single monthly statement. Here's what you'll see:

Base Energy Supply Charge

Base Retail LLC's charge for supplying your electricity. Calculated as your monthly usage (kWh) × Base's rate, which is indexed to be at least 15% below ComEd's price to compare.

Battery Dispatch Credit (if applicable)

When Base uses your battery to support the ComEd grid during peak demand, you receive a credit. This appears as a line item on your ComEd bill.

ComEd Delivery Charges

Fees for maintaining the infrastructure that delivers electricity to your home (power lines, poles, transformers, meters). These are set by ComEd and the ICC — Base has no control over these charges and receives no portion of them.

Taxes & Other Fees

State and municipal taxes, the Illinois Renewable Portfolio Standard charge, and other regulatory assessments.
