During the battery permitting process, utilities like Oncor ([email protected]) will send Base members two agreements to sign in order to complete the process:
Interconnection Agreement (IA):
This contract outlines the technical and safety requirements for connecting your Base battery to the utility grid. It ensures compliance with utility regulations, defines grid compatibility, and may specify operational limitations. The IA focuses on the physical connection and safe operation of your battery in relation to the grid.Tariff Application (TA):
This contract details the terms, rates, and conditions under which you buy and sell electricity. It covers how your battery interacts with the grid, how energy is billed, and any applicable rate structures, such as time-of-use pricing or net metering.
If you receive a reminder from Base to sign these agreements but can't find the email from your utility, please check your spam folder. If the utility's emails with the agreements are still missing after a week, contact Base at [email protected].
