To help Base ensure your home meets the electrical and spacing requirements for a backup system installation, we need a few key photos. After signing up on our website, you’ll receive an email with a link to submit your photos.

Required Photos:

  • Electric Meter: Make sure the meter number is clearly visible.

  • Walls Around Your Meter: Take a wide shot of the entire side of your house, from corner to corner. This helps us assess space for the batteries — which are about the size of an A/C unit and must be at least 3 feet from gas meters, doors, or windows.

  • Main Breaker Box: Usually located near your meter outside. Ensure the breaker switches and the main breaker’s amperage rating (typically 100A - 200A) are clearly visible.

  • Wall Surrounding the Main Panel: A wide-angle shot showing where the panel is located — whether it’s outside near your meter, in the garage, or in a closet.

  • A/C Unit Labels: Ensure the LRA number on each A/C unit’s label is easy to read. If you have multiple units, include a photo of each label.

Planning for Installation:

The battery system is always installed outside near the electric meter. If you have a preferred spot in mind, we recommend being home during installation to discuss options with the crew. While they must follow electrical and spacing requirements, they’re usually able to accommodate slight adjustments if the location still meets safety and code standards.
