What does it mean if my energy bill went negative?

A negative energy bill means you’ve accumulated more credits than charges, and the extra balance rolls over to the next month.

For Base customers, this could happen due to:

  1. Early Termination Fee (ETF) Credit – If Base covered up to $250 of your ETF from a previous provider.

  2. Referral Rewards – If you’ve earned credits through Base’s referral program.

  3. Solar Buybacks – If your solar system generated more energy than you consumed, and the credits exceeded your bill.
