If you’re selling your home, Base won’t charge the $500 battery system deinstallation fee, as long as the new homeowner agrees to take over the battery and energy service.
To ensure a smooth transfer, follow these steps:
Provide new homeowner details: Share the new homeowner’s contact information (name, email, and phone number) with us. We’ll reach out to obtain their consent to continue with the Base battery and energy service.
Confirm the transfer date: Let us know the date you want your energy service to end and when the new homeowner’s service should start — usually their move-in date. We’ll handle ending your service on that date.
Pay off the battery: If you haven’t already, you’ll need to pay off the remaining balance on the battery. Once completed, neither you nor the new homeowner will have any further battery charges. The new homeowner will only receive monthly energy bills from Base.
Set up the new homeowner: We’ll work directly with the new homeowner to sign their battery agreement (confirming they’re receiving a free battery since you’ve covered the balance) and enroll them as a Base energy customer.
